Dobong-gu opened the door of 'Ssangmun Chaewoom Library' (340, Uicheon-ro, Dobong-gu) on December 14, 2019.

Dobong-gu has built a library with a total floor area of ??687㎡, with a total project cost of 2.8688 billion won, including 1.7892 million won. In particular, the name 'Ssangmun Chaewoom Library' was emphasized as a space for residents by contributing to local residents' public offerings by utilizing the characteristics of library architecture and direction of operation.

It consists of materials reading, comprehensive materials room, children's reading room, book cafe, etc. There is also a joint parenting room in the children's reading room so that the library can be used to share the products of childcare with its neighbors.

In addition, the connection space with Ssangmun-dong Youth Land was installed so that it could be connected to the outdoor deck so that it could be used as an educational and cultural complex beyond the function of the library by increasing the connection with Ssangmun-dong Youth Land.

About 300 people attended the opening ceremony of the 'Ssangmun Chaewoom Library', including the head of Dobong-gu, Dong-Jin Lee, lawmakers, city councilors, library officials, and local residents. The opening ceremony was announced at the opening of the opening ceremony of the children's Nanta Club at the Nanbang club in Shinbang Hak Elementary

School.

Dobong-gu has spurred expansion of municipal libraries and small libraries so that residents can enjoy various cultural services in their daily lives. In the case of Ssangmun Chawoom Library, the project will be carried out in conjunction with Youth Land to maximize the utilization of community education and culture space.

Dong-Jin Lee, the head of Dobong-gu Office, said, "We have put our efforts to take a step further from the space where local and small libraries read and learn. I hope it will be a place where life melts. ”

◆ 'Ssangmun Chawoom Library' and Lighting

There are two types of lighting applied to Ssangmun Chawoom Library. The first is daylight lighting. For daylight lighting, large windows were installed on the walls. Second is artificial lighting. LED lighting fixtures were used for artificial lighting.

The artificial lighting used here is a square LED flat panel lighting fixture, LED down light, straight LED lighting fixture, and LED pendant. These LED lighting fixtures are installed differently depending on the purpose of the place where they are used.

The most important thing in the library's lighting is to install lighting that does not harm your eyes and cause eye fatigue. To achieve this goal, luminaires with no flicker and low glare ratings should be used. Ssangmun Chawoom Library adopted products considering this.

One thing that draws attention here is the use of artificial lighting at a minimal level. Few luminaires are exposed to view. Instead, abundant sunlight through the wide window into the room provides enough illumination.

The recent trend of architectural lighting is to make the most of daylight using sunlight by opening many windows in a building. Ssangmun Chawoom Library faithfully follows this point.
