On November 25th, KEPCO (CEO and President : Jong-Gap Kim) held the “New Energy Technology Research Center Groundbreaking Ceremony” at Naju Innovation Industrial Complex in Jeonnam.

 

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by 200 people, including KEPCO President

Kim Jong-gap, Jeollanam-do Vice Governor Yoon Byung-tae, Naju Mayor Kang In-gyu, and Yong-Chae Kim, Regional Economic Policy Officer, Ministry of Industry.

 

The New Energy Technology Research Center is an R&D facility for research and development in the new energy industry and research cooperation with companies in Bitgaram

Energy Valley.

 

The research center is home to 120 researchers, and its main facilities include the main

building, specialized technology test building, enterprise cooperation test building, and

outdoor demonstration test center.

 

The main building is in charge of the integrated operation of research tasks and

demonstration tests, and the specialized technology test building conducts research on

future new technologies such as new and renewable energy, energy storage devices, and

hydrogen energy.

 

The Enterprise Cooperation Test Building will be used for research labs of companies in the Energy Valley in the field of new energy technologies, and the outdoor demonstration

test center will be used for the demonstration of research projects.

 

The New Energy Technology Research Center is expected to play a pivotal role in research

in the new energy industry through the establishment of a joint research system with the

KEPCO Institute of Technology to be established in the future.

 

At the groundbreaking ceremony on the day, KEPCO President Kim Jong-gap said, “We

will continue to support new technologies in the future energy field so that we can share new technologies with energy valley tenant companies.” “I look forward to more companies investing in and moving into the energy valley with the start of this research center.”

He said his feelings.
