Korea is now entering an era of declining populations. Indeed, it is a reality that local

governments in Korea are reducing the number of new born babies, and the number of

elderly people who are dying is increasing year by year.

The best way to prevent or overcome these population declines is to increase the number of new born newborns and provide people with a good environment to nurture new born children. For this reason, local governments in Korea are making great efforts to increase

the number of child care support facilities in the public sector.

In this regard, the opening ceremony of the Ulsan Metropolitan City Buk-gu Child Care

Center in Buk-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City was held in the auditorium on the 4th floor of

the center on June 30th.

 

At the opening ceremony of this day, more than 100 people, including the heads of

related organizations, invited guests and local residents, attended and celebrated the

opening of the Child Care Center.

The Ulsan Metropolitan Buk-Gu Childcare Center was completed in February of this year

with a scale of 1 underground and 4 stories above the ground by putting 6,693 million

won into the 1482㎡ area located at 1022 Sanghak-ro, Buk-gu, Ulsan.

There is a parking lot on the first basement level, and a part-time nursery room, a

program room, and a toy library are located on the first floor above the ground.

 

On the second floor, there is a play experience room, picture book library, nursing room,

and auditorium. On the third floor, there are an office, counseling room, treatment room, multipurpose meeting room, and child care sharing room.

The Social Welfare Foundation, the Ashura Social Welfare Foundation, has been consigned for three years, providing support for daycare centers and tailored services for family caregivers.

In addition, parents' counseling and education, comprehensive children's tests, play

programs, part-time childcare, toy and picture book rental services are provided to help

raising families, counseling and education of childcare staff, support for alternative teachers, and childcare consulting to improve childcare professionalism and smooth operation.

At the opening ceremony on this day, Lee Dong-gwon, the head of the office, said,

“Insufficient birth and child-rearing support infrastructure would have caused

inconvenience to residents.”

He continued, "I hope the Open Northeast Child Care Support Center, which will open

today, will be a valuable space for everyone who raises children to communicate and

interact with them, and will actively support the center to grow as it plays its role."

The Ulsan Metropolitan Buk-Gu Childcare Center started construction in October 2018 and completed construction in February of this year.Since April, it has been conducting trial

operations such as non-face-to-face membership, rental service, and online parent e

ducation.

◆ Lighting with the Child-rearing Support Center

 

The Ulsan Metropolitan Child Care Center is a public facility built with the goal of

supporting families raising children. In addition, there are various spaces for use such as a nursery room, toy library, play experience room, nursing room, auditorium, office, counseling room, treatment room, and multipurpose conference room.

There are several principles for designing lighting for buildings where different spaces are used. First, it is necessary to create a lighting environment suitable for those who use it.

 

Second, it is necessary to create a lighting environment suited to children's physical,

mental and psychological growth, especially in places where children use them. Third, it is necessary to design safe, comfortable, convenient, and economical lighting.

In order to achieve this purpose, we tried to install lighting in consideration of the age

range of people using each space. In addition, it is designed so that the light emitted

from the lighting fixture does not directly enter the eyes of children. At the same time,

lighting fixtures with good light rendering properties and few flicker and glare were s

elected and installed.

The goal of designing safe, comfortable, convenient, and economical lighting was to install LED lighting fixtures with high color rendering, good light efficiency, high energy savings

for lighting, and long product life. Thanks to these diversified efforts, this place could be

the most suitable lighting environment for housewives and children.
