The lighting fixture is not an ordinary industrial product, but a “art work in everyday life” that combines technology and artistic sense of the designer. A product that can properly demonstrate the essence of this luminaire was recently released by Italian lighting fixture maker Luceplan.
The name of the lighting fixture is “Illan,” and was designed by Zuzuzanna Horvath, the runner of the Luceplan. This product is nicknamed'The Poetry of Light'.

◆Design concept of lighting equipment
Regarding this product, Jouzana Hovas said, "Lighting fixtures are at the border between art and design, and they maintain a balance of functional quality, appearance, and some magic needed in everyday life."
In this regard, Jouzana Hovas said, “The design idea of ??this fixture comes from experiments with laser cutting models applied to different materials. When cutting paper and wood sheets geometrically, they show new properties suspended by gravity. Translucency, flexibility and delicate, unshakable movements are characteristic of ‘Illan’ lighting fixtures.
A simple concentric cut motif turns wood into a three-dimensional sculptural object that responds to the smallest movements of the air, and the ‘warm light’ of the lighting fixture creates a comfortable resonance and is reflected on the wooden surface with a harmonious resonance.”

◆Features of lighting equipment
This lighting fixture is faithful to the design philosophy pursued by Luce Plan. Technological innovation and research on materials are the basic elements of Luceplan's luminaire design.
In fact,'Illan' properly conveys the essence of all-around experiments interpreted in terms of skill and expressiveness. In particular, the amazing decorative value of'Ilan' and the emotional range expressed through the use of intelligent and original materials show that this lighting fixture is truly a special product.
“I designed the strong emotional and theatrical effects subtly and vividly,” said Joanna Hovas, “Illan lighting fixtures.

◆How to manufacture lighting fixtures
The luminaire consists of a very light body made of very thin and flexible plywood, and is cut by laser along a dense equidistant line. It can be said to be a valuable and diverse material with unique natural properties in typical particle patterns.
This characteristic is the'characteristic of the project,' said Jouzana Hovas. "According to the runner or Hovas, "Once hanging on the ceiling, the line is bulky by gravity and floats in the air, showing a characteristic shape."
The appearance of ‘Ilan’ seen in the photo makes me think about “How can one light fixture look different depending on the direction of viewing”? From that point of view, it would be good to say that'Ilan' is suggesting a new direction for interior lighting fixtures to go.
