Korea Photonics Technology Institute, inaugurated as the 7th president Yong-jin ShinLooking forward to the right person to lead a new leap forward in the optical convergence industry

Dr. Yong-jin Shin (64) was inaugurated on November 11 as the 7th president of the Korea Photonics Technology Institute. Director Yong-jin Shin graduated from Korea University's Department of Physics, received a master's degree from New York University and a Ph.D. from New York Polytechnic University, and has been a professor of physics at Chosun University since 1994.
Director Yong-jin Shin is expected to lead a new leap forward in the optical convergence industry with coordination capabilities, such as having various practical experience as an optics expert and serving as a member of various committees.
Director Shin Yong-jin was the first scholar who studied laser physics and established the concept of Medical Photonics for the first time in Korea. He served as a Director of Technology and External Cooperation at the Processing Society.
In addition, Korea Photonics Institute Director, Mining Industry Promotion Committee Steering Committee Member, Korea Mining Industry Promotion Association Steering Committee Chairman, International Optical Convergence Technology Conference (IOCTC) Organizing Committee, International Mining Industry Representative Council (IOA) Korea Representative, ISO Expert Committee, National Balanced Development Committee Evaluation Member , Director of Gwangju Strategic Industry Planning Division, and Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at Chosun University.
Director Yong-jin Shin said in his inauguration address that day, "We will lead the national growth engine by reinforcing the global competitiveness of the optical fusion industry by making the Korea Institute of Optical Technology reborn as an optical fusion hub that leads the market and technology."
To this end, he said, “I will try to establish a foundation for sustainable growth by promoting the promotion of the optical fusion industry, ▲ operating an innovation platform to create a technology startup ecosystem for the optical fusion industry, and ▲ promoting growth through internal management innovation.”
Prior to this, the board of directors of the Korea Photonics and Technology Institute (Chairman : HanMin-gu) held the board of directors on October 31, appointing Yong-jin Shin as the 7th president, and finalizing it after approval from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy. The term of office is three years.
