So far, the world's lighting industry has never changed in the last 30 years. It is the fact

that internationa-l exhibitions of lighting were held at a scheduled time of nearly 100%.

For example, in April, an odd year, the Milano International Lighting Exhibition (Euroluce) was held in Milan, Italy. In even-numbered years, “Light + Building” was held in Frankfurt, Germany. Every April, Hong Kong Spring International Lighting Exhibition was held in

Hong Kong, Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition in Guangzhou, China, and Hong Kong Autumn International Lighting Exhibition in Hong Kong in October.

Even in 2003, when severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARs) spread throughout China,

the Hong Kon-g Spring Lighting Exhibition (April) and the Guangzhou International

Lighting Exhibition (June) were held as scheduled.

This is not possible this year. This is because the Wuhan Corona Virus (Corona 19), which occurred in Wuhan, a city in central China last November, is spreading not only in mainland China but also around the world.

Governments around the world fearing that people infected with 'Corona 19' will enter

their country, forbidding or strictly restricting the entry of travelers from countries where

Corona 19 has occurred. As a r-esult, the world's economy and industry were suspended

for a moment.

With this situation, the host companies of lighting exhibitions, which planned to open the exhibition in t-he first half of this year, are also deciding to postpone the exhibition in the second half of this year.

So far, the international lighting exhibition, which has confirmed its 'smoke', will be held in Germany's '2020 Frankfurt International Lighting Exhibition (2020)', which was scheduled to be held on March 8, and '2020 Hong Kong Spring International,' Hong Kong International Lighting Exhibition Spring Editio-n 2020 '.

On the other hand, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, which is scheduled to be held in June, is still in a position to "determine the final schedule of the exhibition after further watching the sit-uation."

'2020 Frankfurt International Lighting Exhibition' Postponed to September

The first and biggest damage caused by the 'Corona 19 incident' is the '2020 Frankfurt

International Lig-hting Exhibition (Light + Building 2020)'.

This is because the company had to decide to postpone the exhibition urgently, as if it

had left its back j-ust a month before the opening day. This is literally the postponement of the exhibition without any co-untermeasures.

Therefore, it would have been difficult to secure the time to avoid the burden of various

expenses incurred by delaying the exhibition. Nevertheless, Messe Frankfurt, which

organizes the exhibition, decided to hold the exhibition in the second half, considering the safety of the exhibitors, overseas buyers and visitors at the exhibition as the top priority.

This year, the 2020 Frankfurt International Lighting Fair will be held at Messe Frankfurt in

Frankfurt, Germany, for six days from September 27 to October 2. Exhibitors, overseas

buyers, and lighting industry officials from around the world have secured some time to

attend the exhibition after the spread of Corona 19 has slowed down.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Frankfurt International Lighting Exhibition, which is held this year, is

an important exhibition opening not only in 2020 but also in the 2020s.

'2020 Hong Kong Spring International Lighting Exhibition' to be delayed to July

Meanwhile, the 2020 Hong Kong Spring International Lighting Exhibition, which was

scheduled to be held from April 6 to 9, was delayed by holding it for 4 days from July 25 to 28.

In relation to this, the Hong Kong Trade Development Bureau (HKTDC), which holds the

2020 Hong Kong Spring International Lighting Exhibition, recently delayed the exhibition

to ensure the safety of overseas visitors, exhibitors, and media, as concerns about the

recent expansion of 'Corona 19' increased. It will be held in Hong Kong General Exhibition (HKCEC) for 4 days from July 25 to 28 of the year. ”

The Hong Kong Trade Development Bureau made this decision not only because Hong

Kong is directly bordering mainland China, but also directly connected to China's economic cities such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou by air, rail and highway. The interpretation is

prev-lent that the 'geopolitical character' of 'one-day living' will be in place.

For your reference, the Hong Kong Spring Electronics Fair, the Hong Kong Gifts Fair and

the Hong Kong Home Goods Fair will be held at the same time.

2020 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition

However, the 2020 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, which will be held in June, has not yet decided whether to hold the show as scheduled or to postpone it.
Since the 2020 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition is scheduled to be held from

June 9th to 12th, there is still time to spare as we can now look at the situation and make a final decision.

At present, the situation in mainland China regarding 'Corona 19' is reported to be in a

lull compared to November-December last year and January-February this year. If the      situati-on improves significantly during March-April, it may not be necessary to delay the exhibit-ion. If so, the 2020 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition will be held on

schedule, minimizing the damage caused by Corona 19.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition is an exhibition held in Guangdong Province, the world's lighting factory, with representative lighting companies

from all over China.

It is also an indispensable exhibition for buyers and lighting industry officials in that they

can see the latest products developed by lighting companies in mainlan-d China.

As two of the major exhibitions scheduled to be held in the first half of this year delayed

the schedule in the second half of the year, the world's lighting companies were also in

trouble.

In particular, “export-oriented companies” are expected to suffer even more than the

domestic market. International lighting exhibitions are an important business opportunity

for new exports and buyers. In view of this, exhibitors who hold international lighting

exhibitions have been careful not to overlap as much as possible.

Thanks to this, lighting companies from all over the world were able to carry out their

business in the first half by participating in Frankfurt International Lighting Exhibition,

Milan International Lighting Exhibition, Hong Kong International Lighting Exhibition and

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition. In the second half of the year, instead, he

participated in the Hong Kong Autumn International Lighting Fair in October to complete the year's bu-siness.

In this situation, two of the exhibitions that were supposed to be held in the first half were postponed to the second half, and several exhibitions were concentrated in the second

half.

The Hong Kong Spring Lighting Exhibition will be held in July, the Frankfurt International

Lighting Exhibition will be held in September, and if the Hong Kong Autumn International Lighting Exhibition is held in October, three large international lighting exhibitions will be held between July and October. do.

This is burdensome for exhibitors who hold exhibitions and for exhibitors. In the process,

it is expected that the companies participating in the exhibition may be scattered around or give up one or two of the three exhibitions. Either way, it's going to hurt your business this year.

The postponement of this important exhibition is likely to have a significant impact on

countries around the world. As the delay of the international lighting exhibition impedes marketing and sales, there is a possibility that the economy of the lighting market may be slow. In addition, after the exhibition opens in the second half of the year, it enters

autumn and winter. That means fewer businesses.

Of course, at this time, it may be possible for companies to focus on investing in new

technologies and new products to outperform competitors. However, we do not know

how many companies can make such investment.

Taken together, this year is likely to be a year when the lighting industry and lighting

companies around the world take on the big burden of business slump.
